Projection Bombing

March 29, 2011

What do you get when you throw a small projector, a laptop, an extension cord and a camera into a backpack and give it to four arts management grad students and the City’s public art and events manager?

Projection Bombing!

Our goal was to uncover the gems of downtown Eugene’s back alley maze to determine sites for the November 2011 (sub)Urban Projections festival while building the project’s portfolio with striking shots of our logo throughout the city. Bystanders were abuzz with talk of the fall festival and the coming spectacle of projection images illuminating the walls with striking digital video and compelling contemporary art.

In the coming weeks, we will continue to post images of our projection bombing excursions and spreading the word in other ways. Keep your eyes open (especially at night)–you never know how you might find out about (sub)Urban Projections’ next big thing!
