The (sub) Urban Projections team wants to thank everyone for their continued support. Saturday, Nov 10th we had a great turnout and amazing art to enjoy. Saturday, Nov 10th from 7-9pm at MECCA

Thanks to all who have been attending the festival. Our next event is this Saturday, Nov 10th from 7-9pm at MECCA. MECCA is at 449 Willamette Street  Eugene, OR 97401, right next to the Eugene train station. The program will be a collaboration between digital artist Jonathan Wu and the Eugene Contemporary Chamber Ensemble (ECCE). ECCE will be performing Steve Reich’s Different Trains for string quartet- 2 violins, 1 viola, and 1 cello, and pre-recorded tape. Additionally we will have an intermission by students at Cal Young Middle School who will be showcasing some of their work at (sub)Urban Projections this year. Much of their work will be digital videos ranging in subject matter from events in their own lives, school related issues, and beyond. Check out the trailer!

Monday, Nov 5th we officially kicked off this year’s festival at Kendall Honda Thanks to all who came out and huge thanks to Kendall Auto!

Kick off Night: Monday Nov 5th!

Come out to Kendall Honda Dealership for our Kickoff Night. Kendall Honda 846 Goodpasture Island Rd, Eugene. We will be projecting art, previewing art that will be at our upcoming nights and offering food and adult beverages for the public as we lead into our festival week. Be sure to find us downtown on the following nights too:

And the winners are…

Congratulations to the winners of this year’s short video program! We had many excellent submissions, twenty of which are included in the festival program. The following submissions were selected by a panel of three judges for top prizes:

1st Place ($1,000): Kiron Hussain,  Slick Horsing, New Castle Upon Tyme, England

2nd Place ($500): Surya Buchwald, Circus of Lost Souls, Portland, OR

3rd Place ($300): Doug Potts, AUU (And Uh Um), Orange CA

The (sub)Urban Projections 2011 judges were: Jill Hartz, Executive Director of the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in Eugene; Joseph Moore, member of the City of Eugene Public Art Committee; and John Fenn III, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Arts and Administration (Media Management), University of Oregon.
